Preparatory Work
We excavate your driveway to a depth of 12-14 inches and lay a GeoTech membrane to ensure that no weeds can grow to penetrate your driveway. We then lay a hardcore sub-base (MOT type 1 scalpings) and mechanically compact this. Any edgings or borders are then installed so that there is no spreading of your driveway. Washed river sand is laid, compacted and levelled to the appropriate height to allow for the surface blocks. These are then laid and again and the driveway is again mechanically compacted.
